At Glenfield Primary we have high expectations for all learners and value ongoing, and timely formative assessment that leads to students and teachers collaborating and co-constructing clear next learning steps. We believe that everyone has shared responsibility for student progress and achievement. We encourage students to be agentic and reflective learners.
We are invested in supporting students, teachers and whānau by building productive partnerships and quality assessment tools across our programme. By applying formal and informal assessment tools, our teachers work alongside our students to support, adapt and refine our programme to meet individual needs.
At GPS we use the curriculum progressions known as “NZ Scope & Sequence” to inform our teaching and learning programmes. Through our reporting tool HERO, we are able to give whānau real time, live assessment data as and when their children achieve progressions in the curriculum. Students themselves are able to interact with this and upload their own evidence of their learning for their teacher and parents to see.
